3D printed titanium proved to be just the right solution for the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse

When Ford refreshed the Mustang for 2024, the team concocted a new high-performance variant to join historic badges such as Cobra, Boss 302, and GT350. 

The Dark Horse is this new performance version of the Mustang and Ford's team sought to find ways to differentiate it from the regular Mustang GT model.

Chief engineer Laurie Transou recalls how her engineering team settled on titanium that is tinted to look like the heat-tinged titanium exhaust tips to provide just the right distinctive appearance.
