Audi App Store Delivers Dashboard Wallpapers

As a de facto computer on wheels, cars are unsurprisingly following computers with the availability of wallpapers for displays that let drivers choose images they like.

Unlike computers, cars also have lighting, so the new Audi Themes include coordinated colors for the cabin lights that match the images on the display screen.

Audi Themes depict travel landscapes, animals, and shapes, as well as cinema and sports. There are even seasonal images for the holiday season.

Movie characters and other themes are planned. Vehicles equipped with the optional Ambient Light Package Plus also get to have the in-vehicle ambient lighting automatically set to compliment the image selected.

The themes are available in the myAudi Marketplace on the myAudi smartphone app starting from $12.99 plus taxes and fees.

Alas, Audi Themes are specific to the vehicle for which they are purchased and are not transferable to another user or another vehicle, so multiple Audi owners who love a specific theme will have to buy it more than once.
