Jurors have winnowed the field of 52 eligible vehicles to just three finalists in each of the categories for 2024 North American Car, Truck, and Utility of the Year honors.

“Electric vehicles again make up more than half of our finalists," noted NACTOY president Jeff Gilbert. "That shows how important they are to carmakers and how many more choices car buyers now have. But there is a lot of variety in this group, including a big work truck, a hybrid, and a family sedan.”

Jurors consider outstanding innovation, design, performance, driver satisfaction, and value when making their selections. It is important to keep in mind that these candidates are being judged against the best vehicles in their own categories, not against each other, so the Accord, for example, is being judged by how it compares to the Toyota Camry, which is its rival, and not against the battery-electric Hyundai Ioniq 6.
