Summer’s here and the time is right for hitting the amusement parks. For the engineer, the roller coaster is the pride of the park. The roller coaster is a brilliant demonstration of engineering just for the fun of it.

Here’s a look at America’s great roller coasters. You’ll see both wooden and steel roller coasters. Many are a mix of both wood and steel.
