Conference to discuss adhesives issues

There's a full schedule of technical conferences, and fifty exhibitors will show their wares
The Adhesive and Sealant Council will open its annual conference April 18 in Cleveland with a full schedule of technical conferences on major engineering issues.
Among speakers will be Dr. Marilyn Black, CEO and chief scientist of Air Quality Sciences, Inc. Her topic: "Sustainable Building Practices for Achieving healthy Indoor Environments." An expert on characterizing indoor air pollutants, she will discuss technical issues around the subject of using low-emitting products as adhesives.
Among other topics at the two-day conference:
* Surface Modification of Metal Oxides: Increasing the Strength of Epoxy Bonding to Metal Oxides. Speaker will be Eric Bruner, of CRG Chemicals.
* The Influence of Temperature on the Tensile and Shear Properties of STPE-based Sealants and Adhesives. The speaker will be David Dillard of the Center for Adhesive and Sealant Science.
* Novel Moisture-Curable Epoxy/Urethane Alloys. The speaker will be Jai Venktesan, of Cytec industries.

In other conference news, the annual Assembly Tech Show and Conference will take place September 28-30 at the Donald Stephens Center in Rosemont, IL. There will be several sessions in the conference program on lean manufacturing, as well as sessions on adhesives technologies and ultrasonic welding.
