SpaceClaim and Algor Partner Around CAE Design

March 19, 2008

More partnership news from the CAE/CAD front: Analysis vendor Algor Inc.  and CAD provider SpaceClaim are teaming up to create a 3-D design solution for CAE users.

As part of Algor V2.1 and SpaceClaim Professional 2007+, the pair are providing a fully integrated solution to give engineers a design-to-analysis environment—the goal being to help reduce the amount of time that it takes to iterate through multiple CAE scenarios. The combined solution delivers benefits, officials say, in preparing models for analysis and building intelligence by being able to edit geometry for design optimization and multiple iterations.

Algor officials said the pairing makes sense because SpaceClaim works with all native CAD files as does Algor products. The distribution agreement calls for Algor to offer DesignCheck, a version of its software that lets users verify designs with a first-pass test, for free to SpaceClaim customers, and SpaceClaim to be offered for free to all Algor customers.

AnarkCAD/CAE Model Clean-Up: Reduce Iterative Cycles
This webinar featured research and survey results related to problems associated with preparing CAD geometry for CAE applications.  We discussed how Recipe-Based Automation can help create "just-in-time" CAE-ready geometry each time a cad model is updated. Watch the Presentation

Light Matters: Systems Level Approach to HBLED illumination applications
Its good practice to apply a systems-level approach to high-brightness LED (HBLED) illumination applications. Minimally, the system includes the optical, thermal and electrical characteristics of the of the HBLED, the lens (if any) which is built-in to its package, secondary optics such as external plastic lenses/reflectors to direct the light as your application requires and power driver electronics.
