Teslas are pretty slick. There's no denying it. Cruising silently down streets like electric sharks weaving through traffic, they're a thing of envy; an expensive luxury many want but few can afford.

But if you have $85, you can sleep on a mattress in the boot of one in Phoenix.

Enterprising Tesla Model S owner Steve Sasman seems to have figured out a way of recouping some of the cost on his car by renting the trunk out on AirBnB, the room/house rental site.

Having bunged a twin airbed, some sheets, and a couple of remote-controlled electric candles in the back, he believes his car makes the perfect sleeping pod -- as long as guests agree to be up and out by 8 a.m. so he can get on with his day job as an Uber driver.

Advertised as the "World's first Tesla Hotel," Sasman reassures renters that they will still "have access to a kitchen, TV, and bathroom/shower" presumably inside his actual house.

Guests also get a Tesla pick-up & drop-off at Sky Harbor Airport "if [our] schedules match up."

The airbed apparently comfortably sleeps two "in climate-controlled comfort all night." Indeed, Sasman notes that since the Tesla uses no gas the car's A/C or heat can run all night without any problem locked securely inside the garage.

Romantic Tesla campers can also "set the mood" with their selection of "any Internet music you would like on the huge 17-inch monitor."

If you're a little on the tall side, though, you may have to find another option. "Sorry, no NBA players allowed. Despite my love for basketball, the Tesla is just too small for anyone over 6' 6". Please ... stop asking," writes Sasman on the listing.
