Google has its own line of Pixel smartphones, and the company recently introduced its latest models, the Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL. The company is claiming that its latest Pixel smartphone is designed to more durable than previous models based on drop tests.

The electronics teardown site iFixit took apart a Pixel 9 Pro XL in an attempt to validate Google’s claims. What iFixit found is that the phone baffles users with a seemingly never-ending series of screws and adhesive when trying to disassemble the phone. The worst was when the reviewed tried to remove the battery, which required protracted fiddling in order to finally free the battery from its housing.

The reviewer did find that phone has improved structural rigidity that previous Pixel phones. But not was the battery was difficult to remove, so was the phone’s screen. The reviewer gave the phone a middling 5 out of 10 for repairability.
