Texas Instruments' TX810

The TX810 is the industry's first integrated, eight-channel,transmit/receive (T/R) switch for ultrasound systems. The device integrates aprotection diode bridge and clamp diodes for each of its eight channels toprevent the high-voltage pulses of the transmitter from damaging the receiveelectronics of the ultrasound system. The device addresses designers' need tobuild smaller portable ultrasound systems, while speeding time to market. Inaddition, the TX810 saves more than 50 percent board space over discretesolutions in portable to mid-range ultrasound systems, and the componentreduction and easier handling brings higher reliability to designs. TexasInstruments says it's first to market with integrated T/R switch facilitatingportability by saving over 50 percent board-space.
