Given the pandemic and ongoing efforts toward economic recovery, companies may now be looking at automation a little more urgently. Automation technologies such as robotics may now be seen as essential solutions for ramping up production to address supply chain shortages and other market needs.

For instance, companies may now be automating to expand or complement an existing (or diminished) workforce, add capabilities to capitalize on new market demands, drive quality improvements to jump ahead of competitors, equip new plants to bring manufacturing closer to markets, and prepare for future emergencies.

Scott Marsic, group product manager for Epson America Inc., will explore trends driving automation as well some of the challenges encountered in the upcoming webinar, “How Robotic Automation Decisions Have Changed Since COVID-19.” This free-to-attend event will broadcast Sept. 15 at 11 am. PST and then available on demand.

Marsic is responsible for developing strategic initiatives to help drive channel growth and end-user demand across the industrial robotics product category. He has more than two decades of experience successfully transforming diagnostic, technical, and business intelligence products into innovative, market-leading goods and services.

In the webinar, Marsic will explore robotics from the vantage point of today's decision makers as they evaluate automation and manufacturing within their business. He’ll review:

  • Changes to customer pain points post-pandemic

  • The impact of onshoring and near-shoring

  • Market trends driving new automation decisions

  • Top mistakes to avoid when automating
