LSI MPG2031 pulse-generator chip is 1/4 the size of a conventional chip and operates two axes of motion control for steppers and digital servos. Address and data commands can be sent to the chip, allowing a system designer to compose an S-curve, trapezoidal, or other complex move profiles for linear or circular interpolation positioning. Packaging is 100-pin QFT with a 0.5-mm lead pitch for surface-mount applications. Matching 2- and 5-phase steppers and drivers are also available.
