To boost interest in engineering among middle and high school students, the Jaguar F1 Team in Schools Event has them designing Formula One model racecars. About 20 Technology Student Association chapter teams will participate at the TSA's 25th National Conference (www.tsaweb.org) in Orlando June 25-29. Students design car bodies, wheels, and axles using CAD/CAM, and then assemble them and produce drawings and 3D Formula One renderings. They are judged on such criteria as safety, aesthetics, aerodynamics, and race times. For information about the Jaguar F1 event, go to www.f1inschools.com.
