Modbus-ida merger

Modbus Organization and IDA Group have merged to form Modbus-IDA (www.modbus-ida.org), which will continue both organizations' work in the use of Internet technologies to integrate communications services, Web functions, interoperability, and safety. According to the companies, Modbus has been the most common Ethernet protocol in automation, while IDA Group has been developing a multi-vendor standard for distributed intelligence using Ethernet TCP/IP as its universal communications standard.
