Reusable Controls Platform
Designed for on-the-fly synchronization
VisualMotion 10 allows OEMs and end users to retain their initial programming investment while a newly integrated, IEC 61131-3 compliant, multitasking PLC allows for combined motion and logic on a single hardware and software platform. In addition, VisualMotion 10 provides the ability to connect up to 32 PPC controllers together by means of cross-communication to provide highly synchronized motion control for up to 1,280 axes. VisualMotion 10 can handle single-axis positioning, multiaxis synchronization, and robotic coordinated path movements. It is designed to meet the requirements of the packaging industry with its ability to perform on-the-fly synchronization and on-the-fly changes between different leading axes.

Motion Control IC
Provides precision velocity control
The single-axis MC73110 motor control IC for brushless dc motors can operate in internal velocity profile mode, velocity mode with an external velocity command signal, or torque mode with an external torque command signal. It is fit for use in applications such as semiconductor automation, medical automation, and applications with high-performance, low-cost brushless motor amplifiers. The MC73110 uses velocity feedback from either an encoder or via a direct-input analog tachometer signal. A velocity scalar term, along with a sophisticated averaging velocity estimator, enables precision velocity control of motor speed and acceleration across a wide range of profiles. Utilizing an on-chip A/D converter, the MC73110 digitizes analog current feedback and provides multiple current sensing methods to maximize motor performance. Only a MOSFET or IGBT triple half-bridge is needed to implement a full-featured controller. The MC73110 is packaged in a compact 64-pin TQFP (thin quad flat pack) and operates from 3.3V.

Miniature Stepper Motors
With lead screws as fine as 4 microns per half step
Newly added is the lead screw output shafts to complement the ARSAPE® line of miniature two-phase stepper motors for precise linear actuation. The lead screw shafts are press-fitted directly to the motor's rotor. This design eliminates the need for shaft couplers, saving both time and money. Available are miniature stepper motors with diameters of 6 mm, 8 mm, 10 mm, 12 mm, 15 mm, and 22 mm. Standard lead screws offered for combination with these motors include the low friction torque M 1.2 × 0.25 mm, the extra fine M2 × 0.2 mm, and the M3 × 0.5 mm. The lead screws are available in various lengths and come with optional self-lubricating nuts. The shaft tips are configured to accept a ball bearing for additional shaft support. Vacuum Pump
Energy-efficient
The vigo-vac vacuum pump for semiconductor manufacturing is a two-stage screw dry vacuum pump that conserves energy, and is available in two sizes with pumping rates of 4,000 or 10,000 L/min. The dry vacuum pump is intended to evacuate the inside of wafer processing units in semiconductor fabrication. It features reportedly the world's first two-stage screw design that offers both proper resistance to by products and reduces electric power, cooling water, and nitrogen requirements. The power consumption of the vigo-vac is 54 to 77 percent less than that of a conventional pump. The main pump was downsized on the atmospheric side, which is responsible for 85 percent of the total power consumption, by incorporating screw-type rotors (rather than conventional roots-type rotors) in the booster pump.

Miniature Bearings
Exceptional performance and dependability
The new miniature (&1 inch) bearings are designed specifically for service in demanding, high-speed applications, such as medical, dental, commercial aviation/aerospace, lab instrumentation, and semiconductor manufacturing equipment. All bearing components are manufactured to exacting quality standards, including bearing assembly in Class 10,000 clean rooms under Class 100 laminar flow benches. Dimensional and functional accuracy are in accordance with ABEC and ISO standards. Special attention is given to balls, raceway geometry and finish, cleanliness, and retainer design, resulting in outstanding bearing performance, even in extreme service environments. The bearings come with a wide selection of steels, ceramic rolling elements, closures, mounting configurations, cages (retainers), and lubricants. Preloading either radial or angular contact bearings increases rigidity, improves running accuracy and prevents ball skidding at very high speeds and during acceleration or deceleration. To further enhance quality, bearings are packaged and shipped in hermetically, vacuum-sealed synthetic pouches, which protect against contamination, humidity, lubricant deterioration, and in-transit damage. Custom packaging can also be arranged.

Drive Rotary Tables
New ultralow profile
The ADRS series direct-drive rotary stages were designed to minimize stage height. The ultralow profile of the stage reduces the effective working height of the system, minimizing "stack-up"-related errors. To maximize positioning performance the ADRS series utilizes direct-drive brushless motor technology, which is optimized for 24/7 production environments as there are no brushes to replace and no gear trains or belts to maintain. The ADRS series also uses a slotless stator design that eliminates torque ripple. The ADRS series is available in 100 mm, 150 mm, and 200 mm versions. Each stage has options for different motor windings to better match the stage to different operating conditions.

Type VLA Actuator
Low cost, high efficiency
By using the LM Guide for its base, THK's new Type VLA actuator has fewer components and a lower overall cost. Long-term cost savings are also realized through the incorporation of Caged Technology, a QZ Lubricator, and electromechanical components. The Type VLA is available in slide and cylinder types, and is compatible with most popular ac or dc servo motor controller packages. Rated speeds on the Type VLA actuators range from 300 mm/sec to 600 mm/sec. Ball screw leads are from 6 mm to 12 mm.

MechaWareTM Software
Brings motion control algorithm development to machine builders
MechaWareTM is designed to be used with all SynqNet®motion controllers. MechaWare is a plug-in library for the Matlab/Simulink environment, and allows quick drag, drop, and the use of interrelate function blocks to develop the right motion control loop. MechaWare works with any SynqNet XMP or ZMP type controller for up to 32 axes of control. Once a model is "built" in the workspace, compatible control code is automatically generated and downloaded to a controller for immediate simulation techniques or real-world testing. Models developed on one platform can then be easily modified and extended over an entire machine product family via the MechaWare API that works with the Motion Programming Interface (MPI). MechaWare works with Matlab version 12.1 and higher running on Windows® NT, XP, or 2000, and only requires a SynqNet controller and associated programming libraries for implementation.
