The robustness and accuracy of thepiezoelectric sensors of HBM's PACElineseries make them particularly suitable for measuring mechanical quantities suchas force and pressure in industrial applications. The new CMD600 digital chargeamplifier from HBM acquires signals from a connected sensor and makes themavailable to a downstream machine control as an analog voltage signal (0 to A plus or minus 10V)up to a measuring bandwidth of 30 kHz, or in digital form as measuredvalue streaming, via Ethernet. The CMD600 is compact, robust and noise-immune,making it eminently suitable for industrial applications. All the usualpiezoelectric sensors can be operated with the charge amplifier. Sensitivityand measuring range can be easily adjusted using the software, without loss ofaccuracy, in a range of 1:10,000. Integration is especially user-friendly. The"CMD Assistant" software included in the scope of supply allows the user toconfigure the amplifier quickly and easily via the integrated Ethernetinterface. The "SensorTeach" function is a global innovation and is alsoparticularly convenient and efficient. The measuring range is scanned once. Then the amplifier is automatically scaled to the determined minimum andmaximum values. A service tool ("stripchart") integrated in the software makesit easy to display and record the measured values. The amplifier supports theTransducer Electronic Data Sheet (TEDS), so downstream amplifiers can detectand automatically use the measurement chain settings. The charge amplifier hastwo digital outputs for applications in machine control, and these can be used, for example, for rapid limit value control or peak value monitoring up to 10kHz.Typical areas of application for the CMD600 are found in production, joiningand forming processes, in test benches for engines or gears, and in research& development.
