Cameron Diaz May Be Hazardous To Your Digital Health

Anti-virus software maker McAfee, Inc. this week released a list of celebrity names that can damage your computer.

The McAfee Most Dangerous Celebrities study determined that movie stars and models are the most dangerous celebrities, whereas politicians such as Barack Obama and Sarah Palin are among the safest. The company said that a search for Cameron Diaz – the most dangerous celebrity for 2010 – has a 10% chance of landing on a website that has tested positive for spyware, adware, spam, phishing, viruses and other malware.

“Cybercriminals often use the names of popular celebrities to lure people to sites that are actually laden with malicious software,” the company wrote with a hint of understatement on its web site. “Anyone looking for the latest videos or pictures could end up with a malware-ridden computer instead of just trendy content.”

Other celebrities on the company’s most dangerous list included: Julia Roberts; Jessica Biel; Gisele Bundchen; Brad Pitt; Adriana Lima; Jennifer Love Hewitt; Tom Cruise; Nicole Kidman; Heidi Klum; Penelope Cruz; and Anna Paquin.
