2013 Golden Mousetrap Awards: Who Will Reign in the Automation Circle?

The finalists in the 2013 Golden Mousetrap Awards have been announced. The winners will be revealed in just a few short weeks at a ceremony during the Pacific Design & Manufacturing Show in Anaheim, Calif.

Are you as excited as we are?

For those not in the know, the Golden Mousetrap Awards showcase the best of the best in new products from the past year, and there is a dizzying range of products vying for top prizes in the Automation and Control segment of the contest this year.

The Golden Mousetrap Awards are not the only reason to see and be seen at the event. Design News will present a Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. James Truchard, the president, CEO, and co-founder of National Instruments, and the Rising Engineering Star award to Justine Haupt, a pretty cool design engineer with Brookhaven National Laboratory. We will also have a special presentation to honor the first-ever Gadget Freak of the Year.

We think the speeches on tap from Dr. T and Justine, as well as the anticipation leading up to the announcement of our Golden Mousetrap winners, are worth the price of admission: $45. Did we mention that all fees and proceeds from the event will benefit FIRST, an organization founded by Dean Kamen committed to showing youth the promising futures that science and technology can hold?

The ceremony will be held at the Anaheim Marriott Ballroom beginning at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11. Click here for tickets for this can't-miss event.

See you at the show.
