Cleveland, OH -A new study from the Freedonia Group predicts that U.S. demand for medical supplies will increase by 5.3% annually through 2004, reaching $55 billion. Among the strongest gains will be supplies affected by the rising incidence of cancer, cardiovascular disease, and chronic disorders within the aging population. Hospitals will remain the largest market for supplies-about half the demand through 2004-but home-health care will be the fastest growing end-use market.
