Brush-On Methacrylate Compound

CastSeal is a brush-onmethacrylate compound formulated for sealing porosity in cast iron parts thatwill contain gases under pressure or liquids. CastSeal's low dynamic viscosity enables it to wick deeply into poresand seams and between close-fitting ferrous metal surfaces. After CastSeal has cured in the porosity orvoids, excess material on the surface is easily rinsed away with water, leavingthe surface clean and ready for painting or other operations. CastSeal does not alter critical surfacedimensions.

CastSeal comespackaged in a 250ml kit with a shelf life of 6-12 months. Mixing the sealant's two components creates aVOC-free, low-viscosity, pale-blue liquid that can be applied by brush. Once mixed, CastSeal has an extended potlife of about one day, allowing multiple parts to be treated from the samekit. Drawing a vacuum improvespenetration. CastSeal's chemistry allowseasy cleanup of parts, tools, and brushes with water - no detergents or solventsare required. Cured CastSeal forms apressure-tight mass that withstands continuous service temperatures of up to179C (355 F). Parts treated withCastSeal have been tested leak-free at over 150psi. Cured CastSeal has a typical hardness of 95Shore D (ASTM D2240) and exhibits resistance to a broad range of chemicals, including oils, glycol, chlorinated and fluorinated solvents, mild caustics, acid solutions and water.
