Jason Koh is waiting for dinner on Monday evening, but the trip from Singapore is catching up to the senior engineer from Zen Voce Manufacturing. He's drinking Coke and pacing, trying to stay awake, both for the meal and so he doesn't wake up at 3 AM.
Jet lag is always a headache for global travelers like the many attending the DVT Global Business Conference and User Group Meeting. International sales account for about half of DVT's sales, so there's a strong international contingent here.
"I'm here for the exposure to the technology and the vision industry. This is definitely broadening my horizons," Koh says. He's doing better on the second day, though it's only mid-afternoon. "It's definitely worth the trip," he adds.
Mike Pelby is attending his second DVT meeting. The Danish sales engineer found his first visit well worthwhile, even talking some other business associates into making the trip this year. "I learned a lot last year," Pelby says.
Both say that the Las Vegas site wasn't a major factor in coming, since it's more of a business decision. "But it doesn't hurt," Pelby says.
