Parallel action eliminates bending loads associated with traditional shaft clamps, reducing stress on clamping bolts to increase life or reduce strength requirements. |
Designed for high-integrity connections between a shaft and a clamping member, the Topolino Inline Grip-Clamp (TIG) uses a unique in-line, cinch-bolt configuration.
Since the fastener is parallel instead of perpendicular to the shaft, as in common with pinch-bolt clamps, it grips the shaft rather than pinching it-providing a more secure connection with a more uniform pressure distribution. Compared to pinch-bolt clamps, the TIG clamp is said to provide better accessibility of the clamping bolt and allow more control of the connection's leverage force.
By eliminating the second bore setup normally required for perpendicular-fastener clamps, manufacturing costs decrease. In certain applications, the design may even reduce material requirements.
