Back when 3D-printing was at the peak of its hype cycle, some were predicting that the printers would become as ubiquitous in households as microwave ovens. That didn’t happen, but the price of 3D printers has dropped considerably since those days, so it could yet come to pass.
The folks at CNET.com named the Monoprice Select Mini V2 (pictured) as the best cheap printer that is “pretty damn full-featured,” given the price. It's often on sale for $199, or even a little less, said the reviewers. They do note that setup is a bit difficult, and if you’re willing to spend a few more shekels, you ought to consider the Flashforge Adventurer 3 (also sold under the Monoprice Voxel name). They cost under $500, and are the reviewers' “go-to printer for balancing price, ease of use and print quality," and setup is simple.
