Interactive CD-ROM training series on plastic-part design covers the following six areas: Product Development and Prototype Processes; Mechanical Behavior of Polymers; Mold Filling, Gating, & Weld-Line Considerations; Shrinkage, Warpage, & Part Ejection; Mechanical Fasteners, Press Fits & Snap Fits; and Welding and Adhesives Bonding Technology. Virtual- reality animation technology demonstrates product failure, assembly techniques, shrinkage, warpage, fatigue over time, and cyclic stress. Demonstrations include filling analysis and gate location, and weld-line strength and occurrence.
