ISA Tech 1999

For the first time in five years, ISA TECH/1999a multi-forum program that addresses the latest solutions, applications, and technologies in the world of measurement, control, and automation opens its doors from October 5 to 7 at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia, PA.

ISA TECH/1999 provides a forum where vendors and users exchange their latest ideas and technology to solve manufacturing problems. This program offers vendors and users numerous opportunities to exchange solutions to manufacturing challenges. To help attendees locate the information, tools, and so forth suited to their applications, the conference is focused around six themes: automation and control, safety and environmental, productivity and flexibility, networking and communications, management issues, and emerging technologies. Technology Center displays, open from 1 to 6 p.m. daily, feature more than 500 companies such as Foxboro Co., Land Combustion, Siemens Energy and Automation, and Fluke Corp. More than 11,000 participants are expected.

The conference's format also gives participants the opportunity to learn more about measurement, control, and automation technologies by:

"The ISA TECH/1999 format is wonderful. You can attend the conference where you get technical talks and still have time for the display floor. I hate formats where you have to compact your time in order to see both a technical session and a demonstration on the floor because they conflict with each other," says ISA TECH/1997 participant Paul Bradenbrug, Eli Lilly, Lafayette, Ind.

Mr. Tom Archibald, vice president and director of Global Operations and Manufacturing for Rohm and Haas Co., will deliver the ISA TECH/1999 keynote address, "Manufacturing Strategies in the Next Decade." Mr. Archibald is responsible for setting the manufacturing strategy for Rohm and Haas, a $6.5 billion global manufacturer of specialty chemicals with operations in 25 countries. Both full-conference and display-only registrants are invited to attend the session at 9 a.m. on Tuesday in the Ballroom at the convention center.

A Technical Conference that runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily features nine plenary speakers and more than 103 technical paper presentations, tutorials, and panel sessions. During the plenary sessions, top experts address issues critical to the future success of measurement and control professionals. In addition, technical sessions allow attendees the opportunity to sit in on technical paper presentations, tutorials, and workshops.

Another highlight of the show's forum is its Innovators Center, which allows attendees to experience the latest in technology problem solving. Learn about the selected companies' new solutions and applications -- the technologies that have helped establish them as industry leaders -- and see their displays and demonstrations. You can visit the 1999 Innovators Center Displays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily at the central entrance of the exhibit hall.
