We call them engineering disasters. But is that a misnomer? Certainly tons of the “engineering disasters” of the 20th Century had nothing to do with the engineer. Many of those calamities came from poor management and execution, often over the objections of the engineering team.

With this collection, we’re trying to decide whether the “engineering disaster” had anything to do with engineering.
