Device Detects Hot Dogs

June 03, 2014

It's that time of the year. You know, that time when the sun is beaming and all you want to do is spend the months outside with your dog. Did you know that dogs can fall victim to heat stroke when the temperatures soar? Even with that coat insulator!

Japanese firm Petline has created a new product to ensure your pet's safety this summer. The company's Heat Index Checker for Dogs monitors the temperature of a particular environment, such as your pet's cage or its body heat, and will light up and buzz if the temperature puts your dog at risk of heat stroke. It is currently only available in Japan (and online, if you can read Japanese).

The device is roughly the size of a couple of sticks of gum and is currently available in pink. It works for cats, too.
