Valve

Mini proportional valve features 250 Hz frequency response and less than 3% hysteresis. It performs at low pressure drops and is suitable for medical, industrial controls, and alternative fuels applications. An isolation diaphragm separates the working fluid from the coil and armature, which limits the fluid path exclusively to the poppet area. The standard valve is made of stainless steel with viton elastomeric components, which makes the valve suitable for both gasses and liquids.

Switch

Model 31D electronic pressure switch is available in three pneumatic ranges from vacuum to 360 psi. The switch features digital display of actual pressure, LED status indication, and adjustable hysteresis. The valve also features a strain-gauge pressure sensor and solid-state output.

Grippers

XRAYTM-1250 Series of long-stroke robotic grippers are available in 100- and 200-mm stroke versions, and the standard gripping force is 1,250N. The grippers are for applications which require the gripper to handle parts with a wide-size variance without changing tooling. To facilitate the application of the gripper, the XRAY has an extruded aluminum backbone that provides a variety of mounting positions. The unit is lubricated for life to reduce maintenance requirements.

Valves

VST model high-pressure seated valves are rated for 10,000 psi and are available for two-and three-way control for circuits requiring the locking of actuators used in clamping systems, presses, and load-holding applications. VST directional valves are suited for systems operating at high pressures. The seated valve design does not allow silting to occur, which provides reliable shifting even when the valve remains unactuated for long periods at high pressure. They are positive sealing valves, which makes them suitable for circuits requiring load-holding functions.

Seal

Series GGME compact-size diaphragm seal protects pressure or vacuum instruments from clogging or corrosion. Compact, with a 13/8-inch size, the seal is also effective in reducing system downtime caused by instrument failure. Additional features include an ultrasonically welded uni-body that prevents occurrence of dangerous leaks and a safety design which precludes rupture of the diaphragm even if the gauge is accidentally removed. The 1/2-inch male NPT end permits the unit to be installed directly into the system connection. Constructed of glass-filled polypropylene, GGMEs can be used with temperature ratings up to 185F.

Valve

Safety-active cartridge valve features full-flow blocking and position monitoring of cartridge. It is used for implementation of required safety circuits for injection and blow-molding machinery. The valve is externally piloted both open and closed to allow full hydraulic flow blocking, regardless of system flow or pressure, and is electronically monitored for indication of both open or closed position of the cartridge.
Bosch Automation Technology, 7505 Durano Ave., Racine, WI 53406, FAX (414) 554-8103.

Seal

Zurcon(R) L-Cup(R) rod seal is for hydraulic cylinders. The seal's profile design provides a back-pumping ability to allow installation in tandem with double-acting scrapers. The seal is available in inch and metric sizes in accordance with ISO standard 5597. Operating temperatures offer a range of -40 to 100C, operating pressure to 40 MPa, and velocity to 0.5 msec.

Flow controls

Series 7660 and 7665 miniature flow controls regulate the speed of an air cylinder, and employ a highly compact design for use in restricted access situations and small installations. Constructed of a nickel-plated brass stem and threads and a glass-filled nylon body, the controls feature an expanded internal O-ring. This ensures that once adjusted, the flow control will maintain the desired settings.
Legris Inc., 7205 E. Hampton Ave., Mesa, AZ 85208, FAX (602) 830-7556.

Air cylinder

Series ME rod-lock air cylinder is available in bore sizes from 32 to 125 mm. The cylinder locks in both directions, and features non-lube operation. The exhaust air from the locking device can be ducted away when there are high demands on the external environment. The materials in the scraper ring, piston-rod bearing, and piston-rod seal are adapted for operation with dry piston-rod. The cylinder barrel features integral tie rods.
Schrader Bellows(R), 500 S. Wolf Rd., Des Plaines, IL 60016.

Cylinders

Stainless-steel cylinders feature adjustable air cushions, a durable seal, and flow restriction to slow down the end of the cylinder stroke for smooth operation. The cylinders also feature a needle that is easily accessible for cushion fine adjustment and cannot be accidentally removed under pressure. The adjustable air cushions cushion the last 1/2 inch of the stroke.

Actuator

2M2A microactuator air actuator is a pneumatic bellows-type air cylinder. With a maximum diameter of 2.2 inches, it can use pressures from 0 to 100 psi, and at 100 psi it can lift 200 lb. Because of its minimum height of 1.2 inches, it is suitable for small-space applications, while delivering more than 1 inch of stroke.

Shock absorbers

MC Series of miniature shock absorbers are for decelerating loads, preventing impact damage, quieting noise, and improving product performance. Applications include high-speed automated equipment such as printing and packaging machinery, robotics, instrumentation, and material handling equipment. The Series' small size allows for high energy absorption in confined spaces, while the self-compensating design accommodates a variety of load conditions.

Pump

Model 2000 variable-speed peristaltic pump achieves a flow rate of up to 2l per minute. Housed in a steel enclosure with baked-on polyurethane finish, the pump has a solid-state speed control with an external, single-turn potentiometer, and a reversing switch for bi-directional flow. The motor runs on standard 115V current, and standard tubing for the unit is thermoplastic elastomer food-grade.
