When restrictions due to the pandemic were initially underway, essential businesses and those traveling home had to wait in long lines to have their temperatures scanned manually – creating a bottleneck on limited resources and increasing touchpoints.
Nokia has just announced a new solution designed to advance the fight against COVID-19 by using thermal detection and video-based analytics to detect symptoms and monitor mask compliance in environments with potentially thousands of people such as factories, ports, offices, airports, schools, or outdoor screening centers.
-- The Nokia Automated Analytics Solution (NAAS) for Access Control uses advanced analytics, machine learning, thermal cameras, and ubiquitous connectivity.
-- Its goal is to create a zero-touch, automated management system so large organizations can make intelligent decisions to protect their people and facilities during and in a post-pandemic world.
-- Respecting individual privacy is also of key importance, as the video stream blurs faces.
The solution is already in use at Nokia’s Chennai factory to monitor employee safety and is designed for indoor and outdoor facilities.
