Engineers tend to be more precise and analytical in their thinking and approach to resolving situations in their work, and that mindset is likely to carry over to pursuits such as gift giving. Just running out and buying an engineer a mug, pair of socks, or other time-honored gift will get a thank-you, but likely not stir an extra ounce of emotion or appreciation.

While there’s no shortage of suggestions for gift ideas for engineers, DesignNews found an interesting list from Thomas, an Xometry company that has long focused on providing content to industrial buyers and sellers. The suggestions combine both practical and novelty ideas with enough “geekiness” to appeal to engineers.

DesignNews has compiled some of Thomas’ suggestions for this list, which appear in the gallery below. All the gifts are available on Amazon.
