Wading pool, diving pool

Swimming centers generally offer pools of varying water depth to accommodate different activities such as wading or diving. But a variable-depth pool can accommodate all.

Operation calls for a Parker Hannifin type HM1 hydraulic cylinder, with 125 mm bore and 1,687 mm stroke. The cylinder pulls a steel cable that attaches to a moveable floor via wire-and-pulley system.

One hydraulic cylinder will raise or lower a 70 m 2 floor 35 cm/min. Electronic water depth sensors allow position control.

Stainless steel floor structure floats on buoyancy blocks encapsulated in polyurethane foam. High-density polyethylene sheet serves as the floor covering.

Torque overload fuse

Instead of compressing the spider between the interlocking jaws of two hubs, this In-Shear coupling aligns the jaws axially. Because the wider spider is then in a shear plane, the coupling prevents equipment damage from torque overload.

Another benefit: The retaining ring twist-locks into place without fasteners. Three small nubs in the ring simply slide into the Spider's J-shaped grooves. Maintenance/removal takes only a few minutes.

Made of a chemically resistant and durable Urethane formula, the In-Shear Spider (with steel retaining ring) is good for Lovejoy's L-Type and C-Type Jaw Coupling hubs. The design solves many maintenance problems in industries like pulp and paper, petrochemical, mining, and steel.

Radially-removable coupling permits maintenance without moving driver/driven equipment.
