July 25 – Day 2 – Semiconductor Input Devices, Project: The Smart Fan

July 25, 2017 - 2:00pm EDT

Solid state technology provides the advantages of small size and fast switching speeds for industrial machines and process control applications. Hand gesture controls are being explored as non-traditional input controls for smart factories. Fast sensing and triggering are important attributes of semiconductor input devices. In this session, solid state switching technology basics will be presented. A discussion on ultrasonic sensors followed by an application of a smart fan hands-on project.
