The only auto show in Europe during 2022 is the Paris Motor Show, which makes its return after missing its previous even-year time slot in 2020 due to the pandemic.

Odd-numbered years are normally the province of the German show, which was historically held in Frankfurt until 2021 when it shifted to Munich.

SUVs and EVs are the overriding themes for this year’s Paris show, reflecting consumers’ interests and regulatory necessities.

"The Paris Motor Show will be the showcase of a revolution in progress and, for this reason, will be more experiential than ever,” stated Serge Gachot, director of the show. “After two years of health crisis, this event will consecrate the long-awaited happiness of being able to meet again for this great automobile festival.”

Consumers will surely appreciate being able to return to public events such as the auto show, but it is important for companies to have a venue to display the progress they are making with new technology, Gachot pointed out. “Brands need to find their public in real life,” he said. “Faced with a future-oriented automotive sector at the heart of so many revolutions, people need to touch, try, feel... We had to do things in a big way".
