  • 25 travel photos from a year's travels testing new cars.
  • It includes our first visit to emerging EV tech destination Croatia.

At Design News we travel the globe to bring you the latest automotive technology in first-hand, in-person, behind-the-wheel coverage. It can be exhausting, as my airline frequent flyer account attests, showing 67 flights for the year.

Stamps in the passport this year include familiar connections through Germany’s Frankfurt and Switzerland’s Zurich airports (including the missed connection at ZHR!). There are also Ireland, Italy, France, and Spain this year, plus countless domestic destinations to typical fair-weather driving sites in California, plus visits to Kentucky, Montana, Oregon, and Tennesee.

The year started with the annual pilgrimage to Las Vegas for the CES show, but no one wants to see photos of the inside of the Vegas Convention Center.

The result is an array of photos from far-flung locales, so we thought we’d share them in this end-of-the-year slide show. Click through for a look at some cool pictures from some impressive destinations.
