Here’s a look at a sampling of science fiction shows on TV. These shows represent an absolute renaissance of science on TV. We’ve never seen so many shows, dozens upon dozens. We culled what we think might be the stronger shows, but with new series coming out nearly daily, it’s hard to keep up.

The production values are generally very good, though the lines between sci fi, fantasy, and horror are pretty much blurred. Take the Handmaid’s Tale. It takes place in a dystopian future with little since and plenty of political horror. Nonetheless, the writing tends to be strong across most of these shows, so we’re in good shape.
