This capability builds on ITT Interconnect Solutions' existing web-based configuration technology and unique single field search, which allows users to utilize a single interface to search for commercial, industrial, medical, military, aerospace and hi-reliability interconnect products. With the 3D modeling tool, design engineers can select from various output model formats, such as STEP, Pro/E, Shrinkwrap STL and IGES, provided the requested product represents a standard configured item. The 3D modeling capability is currently available for ITT's 38999 Series III connectors. ITT is continuously adding product lines to the 3D modeling system.

The service is available to registered users of the ITT Cannon website. Once signed into the site, customers can directly query their requested standard product using the single search field capability. Within the summarized output, registered users can directly request the generation of a 3D solid model. A number of industry-standard formats are available. The downloadable files are then obtained via a system-supplied e-mail link. The customer simply clicks through the link to download the design package as a .zip file, which is then easily imported into their own CAD system for prototyping in products.
