Animatics' Class 5 SmartMotor has an optionalfeature of patent-pending Combitronic technology. Combitronic technology allowsany SmartMotor to read from, write to and control any other SmartMotor fordependability and no data collision or loss. More than 100 SmartMotor servoscan be linked over CAN to create one multi-axis controller. One program can bewritten in one motor to control all SmartMotor servos, oreach motor can have its own program for sharing resources and for a multi-tasking,multi-processing system.

Without the Combitronic option, Class 5SmartMotor communication speeds go up to 115.2kBaud in both the RS-232 andRS-485 ports. Isolated 24V I/O has been added, program execution speeds havebeen increased and Gearing, Camming and Contouring functions have been added.
