This week sees the release of the latest edition of the wildly popular Call of Duty video game franchise, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare. Set during a corporate-run war 50 years in the future, the game has a feature that has gamers buzzing -- the advanced exoskeletons that give players a variety of superhuman abilities including (but not limited to) enhanced strength and speed, increased jumping ability, enhanced vision, and cloaking.
Seriously though. It looks like a ton of fun:
Sledgehammer, the studio behind Advanced Warfare, consulted with military experts on the design of the game's exoskeletons. What they eventually came up with is certainly very sci-fi but not too far away from technologies being developed today.
