Trelleborg released its Turcon Variseal SA (slant coil aerospace) seals for hydraulic and pneumatic applications. Specifically targeted for the aerospace industry because of its small size options, the Turcon Variseal SA has a diameter range of ¾ inch to 2 ¼ inches.

These unidirectional seals utilize a slanted spring configuration, which reduces deformation. They are also made of Trelleborg’s proprietary PTFE Turcon, which offers low friction and is chemically inert. Turcon also has a broad temperature range of -300F to 500F.

These seals typically operate in the 3000-5000 psi range, but have been proof- and burst-tested to withstand 12,500 psi. A list price was unavailable, but Trelleborg claims they are comparable to the price of other Turcon Variseal products.
