Temperature-dependent adhesive

Jim Aubert is a Sandia National Laboratory scientist developing a new adhesive that loosens when heated. His epoxy adhesive is temperature dependent, so it sticks at room temperature, but at elevated temperatures it melts and allows separation. "Our approach relies on reversible chemistry that breaks apart the adhesive at elevated temperatures," says Aubert. For more information, go to www.sandia.gov.
