PPS flexes

Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. has developed a new family of poly-phenylene sulfide (PPS) elastomer alloys. This Xtel XE Series of materials includes two rubber-modified grades of PPS, both of which have been formulated to boost PPS's flexibility and impact strength without sacrificing its heat resistance. One of the grades, XE 3035, is designed for injection molding. The other, XE3200, targets extrusion processes. Possible applications for the new materials include molded under-the-hood automotive components and extruded pipe lining for the oil industry. Go to www.rytonPPS.com for more info.
