The folks at Knovel have been busy as of late. The online provider of technical information along with analytical and search tools has released a spate of new offerings, all in an effort to put technical information at engineers’ fingertips and be a resource for solving challenging technical problems.

One of the more recent new additions is Industrial Equipment Essentials, a package that dishes up guidance and best practice information on a range of product development topics, including material selection and tolerances, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, product design, vibration, plastics, resins, environmental impacts and compliance. The Industrial Equipment Essentials is one of five industry-specific packages Knovel will launch this year to give customers easy access to reliable and relevant technical resources, according to Chris Forbes, Knovel’s CEO and president. The package aggregates content and data analysis tools in such subject areas as chemistry and chemical engineering; electrical and power engineering; general engineering and engineering management; mechanics and mechanical engineering; metals and metallurgy; and plastics and rubber.
