Acetal isn't just for injection molding anymore. At the recent National Plastics Exposition in Chicago, DuPont Engineering Polymers (http://plastics.dupont.com) introduced Delrin(R) acetal sheet suitable for thermoforming. Sold under the Delrin Forming Solutions name, these new products combine acetal's superior chemical resistance and lubricity with thermoforming's manufacturing edge when production volumes don't justify injection molding. Initial applications include housings and trays for use in medical, dental, and biochemical research settings.
