Plastic Tubing Plant Goes Solar

Plastic tubing manufacturer NewAge Industries has received a $1 million solar energy grant from Pennsylvania's Dept. of Community and Economic Development to fund the installation of a 1 MW rooftop solar panel system. The array will contribute more than 50 percent of the company's energy needs. NewAge is working with California-based Borrego Solar Systems Inc. to install more than 4,000 solar panels. The panels will cover three quarters of the rooftop on the 244,000-sq-ft building.
