Winners can use their functional machined or molded parts for prototyping, design iterations, testing, or even an initial production run, says Brad Cleveland, CEO of Proto Labs, which is based in Maple Plain, MN. The goal of the project, which is being judged by company founder Larry Lukis is to encourage innovation.
