That's a great observation, Pubudu - periodic checks are always valuable to ensure that the sensors are calibrated according to their original specs. Their position in the system and the type of system (production versus monitoring for example) will certainly have an effect on deciding what procedures should be put in place to ensure accuracy.

Great article brian, I do believe that all these sensors should  be pay regular attention for the accuracy in order to have accurate processing.

Very interesting and informative article. As a test engineer, sensor selection is often a task that must be addressed. Often our test sets are for new products which brings a whole new set of variables to consider. I particularly appreciated the statement, "A specific concern at this point is an awareness of the material being measured and its potential impact on the level sensor over time." It is so important to understand and account for every possible variable not only for the initial build, but also for its performance over time. Excellent list of what to consider in level measurenent device seection which can also be adjusted to fit a variety of sensor applications.
