@Rob Spiegel, A series on CAN would be good, but I suspect it would just be an extension of this course with one more lecture.
I would like a click by click demo of the software to run Cypress PSoC Creator. Not just what it does, but a click by click demo of how to do a simple application but using some of the fabric of the FPGA.
I'm impressed with the tools from Microchip that enabled the Embedded WiFi Web server. Doing a project without them would be withering. This class and the others this week exposed me to tools that I may have overlooked in searching the Microchip web site.

Like I stated, it will greatly enhance the value of the class if there were prerequisites posted before the class started (30 days or so) in terms of hardware/software required and some discussion monitored by the presenter so that all the interested people could obtain the hardware/software for the class before the class started and resolve the problems before the class. Also, at the conclusion of the class there should be a summary, questions, and answers monitored by the presenter for a day or week. Because it is possible that a few things changed during the class which were not anticipated before the class started. This should be done for all the classes by DigiKey Continuing Education Center.
It will be nice if we could get advance information of the software/hardware required and where it can be obtained/purchased for the class ahead of time (30 days or so) so that all the interested participants can get hold of the hardware/software before the class starts.

Today's material looks really interesting. Microchip apparently is extending MPLAB X to hook into third-party RTOS and other functions, calling this Harmony. So you might be able to just configure your project to use all the pre-canned APIs, glue them together with a little code of your own and bam, you're there.
The "readme.txt" file said to use the C18 compiler. That said, I wonder if there is a .mcd file in the bundle that contains the info for the complete project. If one exists, I would think you can load the .mcd file in MPLAB X and it will then find all the source files.
Can anyone help me with this? I loaded Day 4 designNewsDemo.c. When I do a clean and build I get this error:
error: Configuration "default" builds with "C18", but no toolchains of that type are installed. Errors have occurred while loading one or more configurations. If a specific error is not shown above, this may happen when you import a project from another computer. + You can add language tools in Tools->Options embedded tab. You can change which language tool to use in the project properties dialog.
I am using the 32-bit compiler. What would I do from here?
