@Elizabeth – yes the army is focusing more on the mission goals, however as long as they indirectly support a greener environment its good.

@Pubudu – Some say these charges only generate less power than a normal phone charger. I am not sure about it as I haven't had a chance to use one.

@78RPM – Do they actually generate power for the traffic lights or is it just a sensor to trigger the signals? I have heard of it but didn't find anyone whom I could clarify.

Yes Shehan portable solar charges will definitely a nice gadgets to have not only for the military but also for the public since because the energy source is everywhere.

@William – yes generating power from noise is a cost efficient way. Why not have a microphone on your gun so that every time you hear gun fire your battery packs charge.  lol

@NadineJ – I don't think their ultimate objective is to go green, it's just a byproduct. Their ultimate objective is to have a power source to help military operations

@William – yes detonation only needs a small pulse so even an almost drained battery could detonate a bomb.

@fm – yes most military operations on deserts currently rely on one electricity connection which travels across the desserts. If this connection is broken somewhere the entire military operation would be down.
