Rob, combating miscues is an added plus, but i think managing a strong security system is much more important and desirable. Cyber-crime has transformed itself into organized crime. The bad guys are constantly working and developing new and unique ways of causing this sophisticated crime, and they are way smarter than us.
This is a very good stepping stone, but we need to keep developing similar strategies to constantly come in terms with these wrong doers.

Naperlou, as well as working for security, the router was lalso designed to combat miscues -- operator errors that could gum up the network.

A good first step, indeed.  What is not clear is what security features are built in.  It is one thing to be rugged, but another to be secure.

I agree Elizabeth. Security is going to keep plants on their toes. Hackers are always developing new tools to crack into places they shouldn't be.

Well this is certainly a good product to come on the market for plant security, and more like it are going to be needed, especially as more and more plants adopt Ethernet and start connecting a whole host of things to a centralized network.
