I agree. I enjoyed my Erector set as a kid. I still use the Meccano version to explore Mechatronic concepts with my electronics and engineering tech students. I usually add an Arduino or some other type of microcontroller platform to give my Erector set creations smarts. I do believe I've created my own Vex Robotics system.
The Arduino is quite an amazing prototyping platform. I used to rapidly develop some electronic product concepts. Also, I use it in my engineering tech classes to teach my students about microcontrollers and software development. I'll be presenting a Design News CEC course on the Arduino the week of June 9th. Its amazing what you can do with an Arduino and a little bit of imagination. This safe is definitely secured by a couple of security factors. The first factor is non- traditional locations of safes. Who would every think valuables can be tucked away in an electrical outlet? The other factor that provides security is the lock can only be open using an Arduino with a notebook computer. The digital code is easly changed via the embedded combination programmed into the Arduino truly making the wall outlet a secure safe. Very ingenious Gadget Freak device!!!
I agree. For a moment I thought I wasn't reading the product's description correctly because the cardboard model shows nothing to do with the straws. Yes, it would be nice to see the actual straw elements to appreciate the product's construction kit special buidling features
The concept of the large syringe to inject mini-sponges is great! I've heard that GSW's which are not tourniquet-able have been a long standing issue, and this looks promising. Recently, our church received a thank-you letter from a soldier who inadvertently received a mixed-up care-package we sent, intended for female soldier. This male soldier found a box of tampons in his Care package, but in his quick thinking in an emergency, used them to stop the bleeding of a fallen comrade. Similar idea. Meanwhile, I know from industry experience that if the Military opts to pursue a new innovation or product directly, then no federal agencies (FDA) approvals are required. God Speed!
