I agree, Rob. The sleep robots are intriguing. I wonder what the criteria is for creating the art. If you thrash about in your sleep, does it create chaotic-looking art?

Whether it was their intention or not, the creators of the Davidson College robots are actually dealing with that slippery concept known as the "uncanny valley" (where humanoid robots give people the creeps). By sensing smiles are reacting positively, I would think they're helping to alleviate that creepy feeling. Nice slideshow, Liz.

This is very cool.  I really enjoy the work by Strukt.  It would great to see them partner with Banksy on more political work or David O'Reilly with social commentary.

Simultaneous art can break down barriers.

Nice slideshow, Elizabeth. There's a lot to like here. The robots in drama are new to me. I love the robots who capture your sleep.

The complexity of diesel engines means optimizing their performance requires a large amount of experimentation. Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is a very useful and intuitive tool in this, and cold flow analysis using CFD is an ideal approach to study the flow characteristics without going into the details of chemical reactions occurring during the combustion.
